· HOW IT WORKS ·

Three ways to use Soyo.

Whether you're looking for a place to gather, a community to join, or partners to host with — pick the path that fits and we'll take it from there.

🧭

For Explorers

Find the small, local thing happening near you — and actually show up.

1 · Discover

Browse venues and events near you, filter by neighborhood and vibe, follow the organizers you click with.

2 · RSVP

Tap once for free events, or check out securely via Stripe for paid tickets. Confirmation lands instantly in your Journal.

3 · Show up

Open Journal on the day to see your booking. Cancel up to 48 hours before for paid events; free events are always flexible.

For Community Organizers

Host events at venues you actually want to be in — without juggling four different apps.

1 · Browse partners

Search local business partners by collaboration type (workshops, pop-ups, after-hours, small groups, more) and see who matches your community.

2 · Send a proposal

Pick a date, draft your event details, and send a proposal in one form. A partnership thread opens with the venue automatically.

3 · Get approved → Go live

When the venue accepts, your event is published instantly. RSVPs flow into the dashboard. Stripe Connect handles payouts.

For Venue Owners

Open your space to the community — review proposals on your terms, no app-juggling required.

1 · List your space

Add photos, your story, capacity, and the kinds of partnerships you welcome (catering, tasting events, photoshoots, etc.).

2 · Review proposals

New proposals arrive in your dashboard inbox. Approve, reject, or message the organizer back — all in one thread.

3 · Host the event

When you approve, the event goes live automatically. Attendee lists, payouts, and venue details stay in sync.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered

Where does Soyo work right now?
Metro Vancouver, BC — Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, North/West Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, New Westminster. We're expanding outward as community partners join us.
Can one account be both an organizer and an explorer?
Each Soyo account is set up for a single role at signup — Explorer, Organizer, or Venue Owner — and the role can't be changed afterwards. We lock the role to keep proposals, payouts, and personal event history cleanly separated. If you need to operate as a different role, create a separate account with a different email, or email team@joinsoyo.com.
How do payments work?
Soyo uses Stripe for all payment processing. Organizers connect a Stripe account once during setup — payouts then flow automatically whenever a paid ticket sells. Card details never touch our servers.
What happens if an organizer cancels an event?
Every confirmed ticket holder gets a full refund automatically, including the Stripe processing fee — Soyo absorbs the cost. See the full Terms for the complete cancellation policy.
Can I propose an event at a venue that isn't listed yet?
Right now, proposals go to listed venue partners. If a place you love isn't on Soyo yet, email team@joinsoyo.com and we'll reach out to them.
How do you protect my privacy?
We collect only what we need to run the platform and never sell your data. Read the full Privacy Policy for details on what's stored, who sees what, and your rights.
What platforms does Soyo work on?
Right now Soyo runs on the web at joinsoyo.com — Explorers, Organizers, and Venue Owners can all sign in and use the platform there.

A native iOS app for Explorers and Organizers is launching soon (we finish App Store setup once the team's Apple Developer account is live). Android follows after that. Venue Owners always work from the web dashboard, since proposal review and Stripe payouts are built for a larger screen.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account Settings → Delete Account. There's a 30-day grace period during which you can reverse the deletion by emailing us.
